Despite months of planning and hours of work in the last fortnight to make sure I can enter Italy safely (before new Brexit rules on the 1st Jan), there's nothing that can be done about the borders closing.

No one could have predicted a new strain of Covid, although it probably should have been expected from a year like 2020.

The blog will go dormant for a bit, but there still are plans for next year. I've been accepted as a volunteer for the Tokyo Olympics, so conditional on it going ahead there will be something fun to write about in the Summer.

Until then, Rome will remain the eternal city and will wait until it's safe to travel again.
